DPT
Disease caused by:
Diphtheria: Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Pertussis (Whooping cough)- Bordetella pertussis, Tetanus: Clostridium tetani.
Who should get the vaccine: For all, except if contraindicated
Vaccination may prevent disease complications such as:
- Difficulty breathing
- Pneumonia
Recommended dose:
- People who are vaccinated- After 1 dose Tdap, Td or Tdap booster every 10 years
- People who are not vaccinated- 1 dose Tdap followed by dose Td or Tdap at least 4 weeks later, and a third dose of Td or Tdap 6-12 months later. Td or Toap every 10 years thereafter.
Influenza
Disease caused by: Influenza viruses
Who should get the vaccine: For all above 65 years. And below 65 years, in those at risk.
Vaccination may prevent disease complications such as:
- Seasonal influenza-related hospitalization
- Worsening of comorbid chronic health conditions
Recommended dose: Every year
Pneumococcal diseases
Disease caused by: Pneumococcal bacteria
Who should get the vaccine: For all, especially high risk; For all above 50 years. And below 50 years, in those at risk
Vaccination may prevent disease complications such as:
- Lung infections and/or sinuses
- Brain damage
- Heart problems
Recommended dose:
- People who are vaccinated- Not Recommended
- People who are not vaccinated- PCV or PPSV
Shingles
Disease caused by: Varicella zoster virus (VZV)
Who should get the vaccine: 50 years or older
Vaccination may prevent disease complications such as:
- Severe pain that can persist for months or years even after the rash goes away
- Eye-related complications, including loss of eyesight.
Recommended dose: 2-dose series
Typhoid
Disease caused by: Salmonella enterica serotype Typhi
Who should get the vaccine: High-risk travelers (traveling to places where typhoid fever is common) or outbreak Gastrointestinal bleeding Booster every 3 years Revaccination every 3years after the primary vaccination From 2 years to no upper age limit.
Vaccination may prevent disease complications such as:
- Gastrointestinal bleeding
Recommended dose:
- People who are vaccinated- Booster every 3 years
- People who are not vaccinated- Revaccination every 3 years after the primary vaccination
Meningococcal
Disease caused by:Neisseria meningitidis
Who should get the vaccine:
High-risk travelers (traveling in countries where meningococcal disease is common) and epidemic 19 to 65 years”
Vaccination may prevent disease complications such as-
- Brain damage
- Seizures
Recommended dose: 1 or 2 doses
Hep B
Disease caused by: Hepatitis B virus
Who should get the vaccine: At high risk (Sex partners of person who are HBSAG positive, person with more than 1 sex partner during previous 6 months, person with current or recent injection use) 19>65 years
Vaccination may prevent disease complications such as:
- Chronic liver infection
- Liver failure
Recommended dose:
- People who are vaccinated- Not recommended
- People who are not vaccinated- 0, 1, and 6months If not Immunized in childhood
HPV
Disease caused by: Human papilloma virus
Who should get the vaccine: 19 to 45 years
Vaccination may prevent disease complications such as:
- Cervical cancer, including cancer of the vulva, vagina, etc.
- Anal and oropharyngeal cancers
Recommended dose:
- People who are vaccinated- No additional dose recommended when any HPV vaccine series has been completed using the recommended dosing intervals.
- People who are not vaccinated- Age 15 years or older at initial vaccination 3-dose series at 0, 1-2 months, 6 months
Covide
Disease caused by: SARS-COV-2
Who should get the vaccine: 19 years and older
Vaccination may prevent disease complications such as:
- Severe illnesses
- Hospitalization
Recommended dose:
- People who are vaccinated- 1dose of updated vaccine administered at least 8 weeks after the most recent COVID-19 vaccine dose
- People who are not vaccinated- 1 dose of updated vaccine or 2 dose series of updated vaccine (0, 3 – 8 weeks)
MMR
Disease caused by:
- Measles- Single- stranded, enveloped RNA virus
- Mumps- Mumps virus
- Rubella- Rubella Virus
Who should get the vaccine: 19 to 65 years, Recommended in adults but contraindicated in pregnancy and Immuno- suppressed states (Cancer, HIV/AIDS)
Vaccination may prevent disease complications such as:
- Ear infection
- Swelling in the brain due to infection
Recommended dose:
- People who are vaccinated- Not Recommended
- People who are not vaccinated- 1 or 2 doses
